In the last month, the Environment Agency has announced two major public consultations to help come up with creative, ambitious and practical ways of protecting people, the natural world and our precious water assets.

These novel solutions will help form new River Basin Management Plans (RBMPs) and Flood Risk Management Plans (FRMPs) for 2021-2027, which are strategies for protecting and improving the water environment and addressing flooding.

It is hoped that the coordination of the draft RBMPs and FRMPs will enable integrated and multiple benefits for both managing flood risk and the water environment.

To access the draft plans and submit your views, please follow the links below:

  1. For RBMPs, go to: Draft river basin management plans - Environment Agency - Citizen Space (environment-agency.gov.uk) before 22 April 2022.
  2. For FRMPs, go to: Draft Flood Risk Management Plans - Environment Agency - Citizen Space (environment-agency.gov.uk) before 21 January 2022.

The more we plan together and deliver in partnership, the more we can deliver together – for local people, places and our environment.
