The High Speed 2 select committee visited the Colne Valley Park on 15th January to see the impacts of HS2 and meet local residents and organisations to hear about how the scheme will affect them.

At the attractive location of the Old Orchard in Harefield, with its stunning views over the Colne Valley, directors of the Colne Valley Park CIC presented certificates to the Colne Valley Park's Founding Corporate Supporters in recognition of their valuable contribution to the Regional Park.

Grand Union Canal Backwater
The Environment Agency undertook a fish survey in a backwater next to the Grand Union Canal at Harefield last Tuesday. This backwater was created last year and is already showing encouraging results with many species of fish of varying ages being recorded. Two Kingfishers were spotted during the course of the day.
