The Herts Countryside Management Service (CMS) have recently completed works within this significant wetland site in partnership with Three Rivers District Council, the Environment Agency and Watford Piscators.

Works to date include: the creation of 5 new ponds within the floodplain, a large (700 square metre) wader scrape, 2 gravel riffles within the Colne and an offline fish refuge to benefit juvenile fish in times of flood.  Additional works to update on site interpretation are well underway, whilst CMS midweek volunteers have installed an extension to the on-site boardwalk network to connect up with a woven willow bird hide.  Fencing and water supply installation are almost complete, this will enable conservation grazing to return to the site for the first time in many years.
