Project description

A Heritage Lottery Funded project led by the Ver Valley Society and Hertfordshire Countryside Management Service to increase access to and interpret the heritage, landscape and biodiversity of, the the River Ver and its Valley.

The £105,000 project, completed in 2011 involved the creation of a series of nine walks (8 circular and one linear) throughout the Ver valley. A series of schemes to improve access and interpretation were carried out linking rural and urban open spaces through waymarking and interpretation of the River Ver, improved surfacing, bridges, furniture and waymarking and created an information resource on the heritage, landscape and biodiversity of the river which is available on the Ver Valley Society's website.
