Join us in removing the pesky floating pennywort at the Pennywort Paddle & Pull event! Get ready to make a difference while having fun in the beautiful outdoors.

Floating pennywort is a highly invasive plant species present in the UK that leads to loss of native biodiveristy, increased risk of flooding and decreased water quality. Continued managment and removal is essential, so we could really use your help to protect our rivers from this plant.

We are looking for volunteers to help as banks people to pull floating pennywort collected by our boats people. This will involve walking along the grand union canal to pull pennywort from the river onto the banks. We would love to see you there! This event involves a full day in the river doing practical work, so please wear warm clothes!

For more details of the location and transport, timings what to bring, preparation and sign up, please register on eventbrite here. Help us keep our rivers thriving and free from this troublesome plant. See you there!
