31. Rickmansworth Aquadrome (Local Nature Reserve) Project
Aims: Involve people with their local waterbodies; Improve wildlife corridors
Water body: Batchworth Lake, Bury Lake
Project description
This project will enhance, nurture and protect the Aquadrome: It aims to develop and achieve a balance so nature can flourish, and visitors can connect with and discover beautiful, unique habitats, whilst understanding the importance of the site’s heritage.
In turn, this will promote Rickmansworth Aquadrome as the Northern Gateway to the Colne Valley Regional Park, building on its existing popularity and accessible location to improve the visitor experience to the site itself and to the wider Colne Valley Regional Park (CVRP).
In 2022 the Aquadrome’s management plan was created for 2022-27, the implementation of this plan will tie in with the delivery of this project: Rickmansworth Aquadrome management plan
External funding is being sought as part of the project.
